All orders are sent from our little studio in Wiltshire, England. At present, we only ship within the United Kingdom.
Orders are usually packed and sent within 3–5 working days. Once dispatched, delivery within the UK normally takes 2–5 working days. Custom commissions may take longer — we’ll let you know the expected timeframe when you place your order.
Yes. Each piece is handmade by Heather, and no two are ever quite alike. Even when we create a small run of similar designs (for example, several Burrowfolk dressed in seasonal outfits), each character has its own individual details, personality, and story.
Burrowfolk
Each Burrowfolk is carefully designed and handmade by Heather in our Wiltshire studio, not far from Stonehenge. Every doll is one-of-a-kind, with its own little character stitched into the details — no two are ever quite the same.
How well they sit or stand depends on their clothing. Dolls in skirts and dresses usually sit well on their own, while trousers and dungarees can make sitting trickier. These dolls often look better standing - we recommend a doll stand or leaning them gently against something.
They are crafted from soft felt fabrics, filled with plush stuffing, and joined with sturdy wood and metal fittings. Their clothing is tailored just like life-sized garments, using cotton, corduroy, denim and other carefully chosen fabrics, with tiny fastenings like buttons or hooks.
Burrowfolk are collectible art dolls rather than toys. Many include small parts such as buttons or hooks, making them unsuitable for young children. They are best enjoyed as keepsakes, display pieces, or gentle companions for older collectors.
Yes - each Burrowfolk’s outfit is fully removable, with miniature fastenings.
Most stand around 38cm tall, though sizes vary slightly as each is individually handmade.
Yes. New characters will appear from time to time, though each is one-of-a-kind and won’t be recreated in exactly the same way again.
No, stands are not included. They can sit when propped or lean happily, and you may use a doll stand if you prefer them upright.
Product Care & Materials
Keep them out of direct sunlight, as colours may fade over time. They should not be machine washed - instead, gently spot clean with a soft cloth if needed.
