Window 1 - Barn Owl (Exhibition Piece)

Window 1 - Barn Owl is the first in an ongoing series of embroidered “Window” pieces, each one offering a glimpse into a quiet, natural world.

This original artwork features a barn owl perched on the edge of a picture frame, its watchful form brought to life entirely with hand embroidery — a technique also known as thread painting. Every feather is shaped stitch by stitch, giving the owl a striking depth and presence.

Measuring approximately 32cm tall (with the owl itself around 20cm), the piece is designed to be both delicate and commanding — a statement work that bridges fine art and textile craft.
